Anna Bovitz, DVM
Owner and Mixed Animal Veterinarian Anna M. Bovitz DVM graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in Spring of 2020 and has been with us ever since. She enjoys working with a variety of species all while developing her interests. She enjoys mentoring students of many ages and encourages youth to enter the veterinary field. As you can see from her photo she has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers. She enjoys spending time with her Golden Retriever Cha Cha (pictured on the far right), German Shepherd Taconite, and her Australian Shepherd Cascade. She also can be found enjoying hiking, reading, spending time outdoors with her husband and family and time at the cabin. We would love for you to come and meet her! |
Bruce Oscarson, DVM
Large Animal Veterinarian Bruce A. Oscarson DVM, a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, has been with the Osceola Veterinary Service since 1990. Dr. Oscarson enjoys working with all large animal species (cattle, horses, camelids(alpacas and llamas), goats, sheep) and their owners. He regularly visits many of the area dairy farms providing services ranging from herd reproductive exams and ultrasounds to repairing injured teats and caring for sore feet. Dr. Oscarson serves most of the alpaca breeders in the area offering general husbandry/management consultation as well medical and surgical care including reproductive ultrasounds. A majority of Dr. Oscarson's time is spent with the horse owning residents of our four county practice area. With a full stable of his own, he is very experienced in all aspects of horse care. Equine hoof & foot problems are an area of particular interest. Dr. Oscarson loves to spend his free time (when not catching up on chores at home) kayaking on Lake Superior, canoe camping in the Boundary Waters or trail riding one of his horses along with his wife. |
Samantha McDonald, DVM
Small and Exotic Animal Veterinarian Samantha McDonald, DVM is a 2016 graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She began working in central Wisconsin as a small animal practitioner, and after 5 years decided it was time to move closer to family. Dr. McDonald lives with her husband, Nate, and their two boys - Finnian and Griffin. They one day want to begin their own hobby farm, complete with a few goats, horses and chickens. When time allows, she enjoys camping, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. At home they have young Great Dane pup whom love to steal their food and is Finn and Griff's best friend's all while the three cats are still withholding judgement. Dr. McDonald's areas of special interest include behavior, internal medicine and soft-tissue surgery. She enjoys working with cats, dogs, pocket pets and the occasional chicken. She is looking forward to meeting all the pets (and their humans) in the Osceola area! |
Sarah Hughes, DVM
Mixed Animal Veterinarian Sarah Hughes, DVM is a 2023 graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her bachelor’s degree in animal science through the University of Minnesota as well. She has an interest in large and small animals, especially horses. Her hobbies include horseback riding, kayaking and hiking. And during the cold winter months can be found cuddled under a warm blanket deep into a good book! She has 2 cats – Peaches and Huckleberry that keep her busy with their naughty behaviors at times. Dr Hughes enjoys working with all species, but loves horses and cats. She looks forward to meeting may of you here at the clinic and potentially out at the farm on a visit. |

Jenny Staff
CVT Large Animal Technician Hello fellow animal lovers. I have been a part of the OVS family since March of 2006. I spend my days in our mobile unit as our large animal technician. We see a variety of species including equine, bovine, camelids (llama, alpaca, and one sweet camel), caprine, and ovine. We are also greeted by the occasional farm dog or barn cat with a tail wag and are glad to include them in our day. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1989 from UW River Falls. I went back to school and received my A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Globe University and soon after became a part of OVS. I live in East Bethel MN with my husband Mike, 2 horses (Ozzie and Pluto), our goofy lab Frank, and 2 barn cats (Tuffy and Shade). I enjoy horseback riding, downhill skiing, and fishing (in any kind of weather). I hope to meet you soon! |
Cathy Bracht
CVT Small Animal Technician Hello, I'm Cathy and I recently joined the OVS crew in spring of 2017. I graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota (MIM) in 1995. I have lots of knowledge in small animal medicine and breeding. I am available to answer your questions. Although I have lived on a small farm my whole life I find that I am still learning about farm animals and I really enjoy it. My hobbies include showing and breeding Great Danes as well as horse back riding with my Tennessee Walkers. I enjoy the summer months with boating and being outdoors. I look forward to meeting you and your pets in the near future. |
Isabella Lee
Small Animal Technician and Customer Service Representative I have always had an interest in veterinary medicine and have worked with a variety of species over the years. I graduated with a degree in animal science from Globe University in September 2016. I have 3 dogs (Rain, Kiara and Chevelle- Labrador Retrievers), 1 cat (Kovu- Siamese), and 2 horses (Wildfire-Quarter horse, and Willow- Paint). In my spare time I enjoy horse back riding, reading, swimming, fishing, kayaking and traveling. I have a special interest in wildlife rehabilitation as well. I am currently working with small animals at Osceola Veterinary Service and look forward to meeting you and your pets. |
Katie Lee
Mixed Animal Technician Hello, My name is Katie. We have 5 fur-kids: 2 horses (Tigger and Magic) and 3 Boston Terriers (June Bug, Henry, and Waylon). I love spending time with all of them trail riding, hiking and anything outdoors. You will usually see me in the clinic assisting patients but occasionally will see me out on house calls. I enjoy a variety of all animals. |
Michelle Axelsen
CVT Small Animal Technician, Nutrition and Poultry Advisor Hello, My name is Michelle. I previously worked at two other clinics prior to joining the team at OVS in February 2019. I graduated from Argosy University October 2013 with a A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology and have been working in Veterinary Medicine since. I have worked with a wide variety of different species over the years and love them all! My husband, daughter, and I live on a small hobby farm outside of Star Prairie WI with an ever growing amount of critters. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, growing our hobby farm, horseback riding, and hiking. I look forward to meeting you and your pets at your next visit. |
Emily Chapman
CVT Small Animal Veterinary Technician I come to Osceola Veterinary Service with a Bachelors in Animal Science from UW River Falls and an Associates in Veterinary Technology from Rochester Community and Technical College. I have been a technician for several years and enjoy working with dogs and learning more about behavior medicine. I have 2 dogs: Diesel, a Cattle Dog Mix and Keeva, a Border Collie; 2 cats (Peppurr and Whiskey) and a large flock of chickens. In my spare time I train and compete in agility with my dogs. If I am not at work I can be found attending agility class or competing with my dogs at a trial. I look forward to meeting all of you and your pets. |
Hannah Stout
CVT Small Animal Veterinary Technician and Nutrition Advisor I graduated with an Associates Degree from Minnesota School of Business in 2013 and have a special interest in nutrition and dentistry. I love working with the cats and dogs that come in at OVS. I have 2 dogs: Bane, a Border Collie/Lab Mix and Indy (also known as Indy Jones) a Husky. Outside of work I enjoy kayaking, cooking, working out, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to meeting you and your family when you stop in at the clinic. |

CVT Small Animal Veterinary Technician Hello, my name is Kristi. I graduated from Argosy University with my associates degree as a Veterinary Technician in 2004. Everything about veterinary medicine is interesting to me however I truly enjoy dental care. I love that I get to work with so many different species but if I had to pick a species that interests me the most, I would choose horses and dogs. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy camping and horseback riding as well as training my dogs and horses. We have a little of everything at home from horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, chickens and whatever else the kids happen to bring home. Taylor Hoople
Small Animal Veterinary Assistant Hello, my name is Taylor and I recently have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from UW River Falls. I enjoy working with the smaller animals here at OVS and you may see me from time to time in appointments or helping-out around the clinic. I have a dog, lab mix named Rex. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, camping, going on road trips, and watching scary movies. I hope to see you and your family at the clinic. |
Caitlyn Vitalis
Small Animal Veterinary Assistant Hello My name is Caitlyn. I recently graduated from High School and plan on attending UW River Falls in the fall for a major in Animal Science. I have a love of cats, especially the kittens! My hobbies include biking the trails, horseback riding and showing animals at the fair. I have 1 dog, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Macey, 3 cats and 2 fish. Since starting with OVS in 2019 as a kennel assistant and now moving up as a veterinary assistant I have gotten lots of experience with a variety of animals. It has been an adventure of a lifetime and I'll never regret my decision! I look forward to meeting you and your pets in appointments! |
Mikayla Albers
Small Animal Veterinary Assistant Hello My name is Mikaya. I recently graduated from High School in 2020 and started tech school at Northwoods College. I absolutely love it! I love being an integral part of helping animals. I have an interest in snakes, especially ball pythons and hognose and I like many rodents as well. My hobbies include pretty much anything outdoors (rain or shine) and taking long walks with my dog. I have a few animals; 1 cat and 3 dogs. My dogs are a older Beagle/Jack Russell mix who still has spunk and sass, a chocolate Lab who is a goofball, and a yellow Lab who is my best friend and heart dog. I look forward to meeting you and your family members. |

Small Animal Veterinary Assistant Hello My name is MaKenna. I am currently enrolled in the pre-vet med program at UW – River Falls and loving being involved in the care of animals. I have interests in learning more about cows and their care and look forward to working with them in the future. My hobbies include golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, riding in our side by side and spending time with my family. I have a dog named Blu (Brittany) that I like to take bird hunting. Meghan Lee
CVT Small Animal Technician and Inventory Manager Hi! My name is Meghan. I joined Osceola Veterinary Service in the fall of 2007. I graduated from Globe University in December 2007 with an A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology. For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to work with animals; so becoming a CVT has been a dream come true! I have a beautiful daughter named Hailee and an amazing husband named Ryan. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my own pets. I currently have a pitbull mix named Mya. Mya is very special to me because I hand-raised her since she was only 1 week old! My newest addition is Mollie Mae a boston Terrier. I have fallen in love with Boston Terriers since becoming a veterinary technician and it is very exciting to now have my own! I have two yellow labs Molly and Maggie and 1 black lab Raven that I really enjoy bringing with pheasant hunting. I also have two cats (Lucy and Enzo). Additional activities I enjoy are snowboarding, hiking, fishing, hunting, kayaking, gardening, camping, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. I can't wait to see all of you and your pets at your next visit! |
Angel Olson
Lead Customer Service Representative and CVT Hello my name is Angel and you will meet me at the front desk when you come in. I have a Bachelors in Animal Science from the U of M and have been a CVT since 2002 and come with lots of experience in a large variety of species. I have 3 cats ( Sheldon Cooper, Penny, and Leonard) and 3 dogs (English Springer Spaniels named Holley, Spicer, and Shelby) that keep me busy. I have always had an interest in behavioral medicine and training. Animals sure know how to touch one's soul with their big hearts and return love unconditionally! When not at work you will usually find me outdoors doing something fun. I have several hobbies that I partake in, all the way from ATV riding and off road adventures to the usual’s such as hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping. I love being a part of the team here at Osceola Veterinary Service and I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! |
Weston Bovitz
Business Manager Weston is a 2016 graduate of NDSU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will see him around the clinic doing a variety of tasks from mowing to bookkeeping to fill-in receptionist and everything in between. He enjoys spending time with his wife Anna, their Golden Retriever Cha Cha, German Shepherd Taconite, and Australian Shepherd Cascade. His other hobbies include fishing, archery, hiking and spending time at the family cabins. |
